Pest Management Qualifications
The following Statements and Certificates indicate the units you must be competent in, to achieve formal qualifications. These qualifications are recognised by all licensing agencies, accreditation programs and insurance providers in Australia

To achieve licensing you will require
...

This qualification can be completed by attending a full training course or by correspondence. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be an entry level pest Management Technician. The course covers both training and assessment, or just “assesment only” if you feel you are already competent and need only be recognised.

Generally to complete the full course you need to complete four tasks.

  1. Complete an assessment booklet which covers the general principals of pest control and safety.
  2. Complete a daily log-book showing each job that you attended.
  3. Complete an interview
  4. Participate in an on-site assessment

Upon completion of the qualification you will receive a Statement of Attainment which lists the following Units of Competency.

PRMPM05B - Modify environment to manage Pests
PRMPM06B - Apply pesticides to manage pests
PRMPM18B - Maintain an equipment and chemical storage area

To achieve Termite and Timber
Pest Management qualifications you require…


This training course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be a Timber Pest Manager. It covers both training and assessment in Termite, Borer and Wood decay Inspection and Management. You are also required to complete Unit 6 as it is a pre-requisite for Unit 10. If you already hold Unit 6 then you will only be required to complete Units 8 & 10.

To complete this course you need to complete three tasks

  1. Complete an assessment booklet which covers the general principals of Timber Pest Inspection and Management.
  2. Complete a daily log-book of Timber Pest work showing each job that you attended
  3. Complete an interview
  4. Participate in an on-site assessment

Upon completion of your training and assessment, you will receive a Statement of Attainment which can submitted to your government licensing office, insurer or accreditation body.

Your Statement will list the following units of Competency

PRMPM06 - Apply pesticides to manage pests (if required)
PRMPM08B - Inspect and report on timber pests
PRMPM10B - Control timber pests


To achieve
Certificate III in Asset Maintenance
(Pest Management – Technical)
PRM30204 you will require...

This training course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be a technical level urban pest manager. The course covers both training and assessment in general urban pests and offers electives in specific areas such as timber pests. It is also the minimum qualification required for government funding in every state and territory and is the minimum requirement  for PestCert™.

To complete this course you need to complete four tasks

  1. Complete Units PRMPM05B, PRMPM06B and PRMPM18B     (5,6 & 18)
  2. Complete two elective such as Units PRMPM08B & PRMPM10B   (8 & 10)  if you wish to be a Timber Pest inspector/Manager.
  3. Complete the training and/or assessments for your remaining units
  4. Complete a daily log of all work you attended
  5. Participate in an on-site assessment, including an interview

What you will receive
Upon completion of your training and assessment, you will receive a Certificate III in Asset Maintenance Pest Management Technical and Statement of Attainment showing all competencies achieved. This can submitted to your government licensing offices and other agencies for licensing and timber pest accreditation.

Please note: You can also complete your Certificate III with 2 electives other than Units 8 & 10 for Timber pests.


To achieve
Certificate IV in Asset Maintenance
(Pest Management)

This training course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to operate and manage an urban pest management business. The course covers both training and assessment.

Please Note:

To enrol in this course you must have completed PRM30204 or PRM30298 Certificate III in Asset Maintenance (Pest Management Technical)

To complete this course you need to complete two main tasks

  1. Complete Learners Guides for your core and elective units
  2. Actively participate in on-going unit assessments

What you will receive
Upon completion of your training and assessment, you will receive a Certificate IV in Asset Maintenance Pest Management  and Statement of Attainment showing all competencies achieved, This can submitted to agencies and insurance providers. It can also be used to show high level qualifications in sales and marketing pursuits.

Your Statement will list the following units of Competency:

To achieve the qualification you must demonstrate competency in all 15 core units plus 7 elective units (total of 22 units). As you have already completed 11 of your core units in Certificate III in Asset Maintenance Pest Management Technical, you need only complete 4 core units and 7 elective units. A total of 11 units.
